Ali Maksum, PhD staff and former secretary of MIHI UMY has obtained a prestigious achievement this year. Currently, he is a Visiting Fellow under 2018 Taiwan Fellowship Program under Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan. Along with scholars and academicians across the globe, he has been conducting a research on Indonesian migrant workers in Taiwan and its contribution to strengthening both countries relationship. During this program which has been participated by scholars from various countries such as United States, Japan, Germany, Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Vietnam, England, etc., he will stay for four months duration in the Institute of International Relations (IIR), National Chengchi University, Taipei. He also built academic collaboration and networking in the institution where he work with.
The Taiwan Fellowship Program is offer so many opportunities to senior and junior academicians around the world to conduct research in Taiwan’s institution. All accommodations are covered by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan. He was very honored to join this program and hopefully can contribute to boost academic quality and capability especially for him as well as for institution Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
