Five students from Master of International Relations Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, Adityo Arifianto, Hamdy Maulana, Untari Narulia, Nurinayah, and Revlinur Rahmawati have participated the Seventh National Conference of Asosiasi Program Pascasarjana Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah (APPTM) at Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta on March 23-25th, 2018. The national conference entitled,Orientasi Program Pascasarjana PTM: Memperkuat Tradisi Riset dan Publikasi” has become the media for scholars to answer the challenge to improve academic quality in Indonesia.

One of the notable speakers at the national conference, Professor Ocky Karna Rajasa has spoken about the way to improve education quality in Indonesia by increasing the number of research. He encouraged all the participants, graduate students; both master and doctoral students, and even the lecturers from Muhammadiyah University to become a productive researcher, and produce more academic writings that can be published in indexed journals such as SCOPUS. He also explained that has shown an increase in the number of indexed journals publication. Indonesia has reached the 3rd place among other ASEAN member countries. Besides becoming a productive researcher, Prof. Rajasa also encourages scholars to have IDs in Sinta Journal issued by the Ministry of Research Technology and Education.

One of the participants, Untari Narulita has said that they were so grateful to participate the conference.The conference was not only attended by master students, many of them are doctoral students, lecturers, and even postgraduate directors from several Muhammadiyah Universities in Indonesia. “It is so pleasuring yet challenging to be among them”, she added.
